This alternative to a St John’s liveaboard will take you to the northern Red Sea, towards the tip of the Sinai Peninsula, where spectacular walls and breathtaking drop-offs await you. At Shark and Yolanda Reefs in Ras Mohamed National Park, some predators such as tuna, barracuda and trevally, as well as species such as unicornfish and batfish, come to these dramatic walls to reproduce from May to August.
The Nautile Evo will then take you to the Straits of Tiran, where you will dive Gordon, Woodhouse, Jackson and Thomas Reefs, encountering some species endemic to this area, as well as exploring walls with unusual shapes and an exceptional variety of colours.
Finally, you will also dive the offshore reefs of Safaga: Panorama and Middle Reef, as well as Abu Kéfan — sites that have remained wild and are covered in an extraordinary abundance of marine life.
This liveaboard combines exploration, adventure and total immersion in the biodiversity of the Red Sea, while following an itinerary adapted in response to feedback from our clients during the summer of 2025. Some dives in the southern part of the route had occasionally disappointed, as the reefs were less well preserved due to particularly warm sea temperatures and rising summer temperatures.
The sites mentioned above may vary depending on weather conditions or government regulations. This is an example of how the week may unfold.
Sunday morning departure towards Sha’ab El Erg (Dolphin House), a coral garden where dolphins may perhaps honour you with their presence.
In the afternoon, you will sail towards the tip of the Sinai Peninsula, with a stop at Gubal Island, a site sheltered from the wind. This small piece of land is home to a rich and colourful reef. Here, you will discover Bluff Point, with a drift dive allowing you to effortlessly admire the richness of the corals and, for the luckiest, the passing of turtles and dolphins.
This day is spent entirely within Ras Mohammed National Park, renowned for the abundance of its marine life and the excellent quality of its coral reefs.
At Ras Zatar, we follow a sunlit wall where the reef gradually descends into the blue. The coral formations provide shelter for a multitude of reef fish, while the excellent visibility brings out the shapes and colours of the underwater landscape.
At Ras Ghazlani, the dive takes place over a broad plateau covered with coral gardens. The exploration is peaceful, winding between coral bommies and clear sandy areas, with abundant marine life moving all around the divers.
At Umm Sid, we follow a wall richly covered with hard and soft corals. Gorgonians, crevices in the reef and schools of fish silhouetted against the blue give this dive a vibrant and colourful atmosphere.
After sailing to the sheltered lagoon of Tiran, you will begin the first day with Thomas Reef, a plateau at 25 metres, a true forest of fire coral inhabited by all the typical Red Sea reef species, not to mention a school of schooling bannerfish, an endemic species. A little further north of this plateau lies Thomas Reef Canyon, a corridor starting at a depth of 35 metres and descending to… 93 metres! A true natural fissure where, depending on your diving qualifications, you can explore different sections of this dramatic break. An incredible descent into the depths of the earth.
Then, the other sites of Tiran:
Woodhouse Reef, the northernmost reef of Tiran, offers a leisurely dive over a plateau between 15 and 20 metres, where you may also come across the entrances to very deep caves. A multicoloured garden where the rays of sunlight make the colours burst to life!
Jackson Reef, with its wall and plateau, will delight you with its luxuriant marine life. Pelagic encounters are possible, particularly with hammerhead sharks during the summer.
And Gordon Reef, where the radiant colours of the site are sure to enchant you.
The fifth day will take you to Abu Kefan, a legendary site for pelagic encounters.
This plateau is often subject to strong currents, which is the secret to its exceptionally rich marine life. At around 6am, you will head to the tip of the South Plateau in search of pelagics, and towards the end of the morning, you will explore the North Plateau.
The afternoon is dedicated to the most beautiful coral garden in the Red Sea: Middle Reef. Located between Panorama Reef and Abu Kefan, this coral garden ranges from 2 to 15 metres in depth. You will feel as though you are wandering through fields, each one different in colour and size.
Heading to Panorama Reef, Safaga’s legendary dive site, where you will have the opportunity to explore both the northern and southern sides.
On the North Plateau, a collection of giant gorgonian fans awaits you at around 30 metres. You will also find a spectacular display of purple soft corals. Looking out into the blue, you may be lucky enough to spot reef sharks, trevally, groupers or tuna.
On the South Plateau, numerous cavities can be found along the wall, and nurse sharks or whitetip reef sharks may make an appearance… On the sandy plateau, crocodilefish and stingrays will almost certainly come to greet you!
